How should we occupy ourselves in the waiting?

“I prophesy: God’s promises will surely come true, no matter what you have told yourself, and no matter what the circumstances have told you.”

A suggestion for worship music in the waiting: “Who is like you? Took the sin of the world on your shoulders. You did it so willingly. God the price you paid will forever be enough. And the life you gave…You gave it all for love. Your name is GLORIOUS. We lift you up higher.. Come see what God has done and lift him up higher.”

From the lyrics of “Your Name is Glorious” from Jesus Culture’s Unstoppable Love album

“The enemy knows time is short, so he is willing to do whatever needs to be done, as he still believes he will win in the end.” Believe it.

For I say to you, this day, change is in the air. Can’t you feel it? Can’t you see it? Hasn’t that been your hope for this nation, My People, and the world?

Have you not wanted to be in it, for My sake?  Have you not overcome much for Me?

I say to you the wheels are turning and exposure of the evil ones will be at its height in the coming weeks.  Those who have felt they have controlled the wheels of time and all that goes with it, for the future of this nation and the world, are done.  Their job is over.  It has been cancelled by Me, Your Heavenly Father, who loves you and all mankind.

The enemy knows it and is furious his plans have been thwarted once again and cancelled before his eyes. To make it worse for him, the ones who work for him have and will see it happen to further embarrass him.

He will not stop and will try to leave destruction in his wake of lies, contempt, upheaval, harm, pain, and suffering for all that he can.  He will try to put the blame for his escapades on everyone but himself.

The LORD began to speak, “I AM going to upend the enemy in his plans and purposes. Just wait and see. For am I not the God of the Impossible?”

Source: The LORD said: “Upend!” † His Kingdom Prophecy

Try the worship song “God of the Impossible” by Everfound on their Everfound CD. Talks of “Here I am, Lord send me…” This should be all of our heart’s cry along with, “I dare to believe in incredible things…”

We are told repeatedly in God’s holy word to worship only God — not his creation of created animals, birds, fish or humans. Keep in mind there is no “Mother Earth.” Satan has cleverly steered the unrepentant minds of men away from proper worship of Father God who “in the beginning, created the heavens and earth,” to environmental issues and female gods such as Gaia who may be displeased by our corporate actions. We are told in the 10 Commandments to have no other gods and love the Lord, our God, with all our heart and soul. In other words, to EXALT ONLY HIS NAME as lord of all creation — the one who gives us life and takes it away when his breath is removed. He alone is the creator of souls which are then placed in human bodies for their journey of choice here on planet earth.

Try listening to the song “I exalt thee” sung by Jesus Culture on their Your Love Never Fails album.  See if your heart and soul does not swell and react to this love anthem to Father God. Flood your mind with truth in 2017 as there is much deception in the form of “choice” out there. there is an astonishing array of false paths that do not have Jesus as the gate. Use discernment. Does your choice conform to the word of God, or are YOU conforming to the call of the world and “everybody does it so why not me?” Hold firm to your faith and see the salvation of our Lord soon revealed. Hallelujah!

Fair warning has been given for your actions either for or against Creator God here: “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in the body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”  (2 Corinthians 5:10, KJV)

Satan is feverishly working at deception and soul winning for his own dark kingdom under the earth, hell. Jesus called him “a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth”.  (John 8:44, KJV) Do not look to a murderer and liar for salvation. You will be eternally disappointed, dismayed, frantic and trapped.

And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize?  So run, that ye may obtain.  And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:  but I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway,”
  1 Corinthians 9:23-27 (KJV).

We are in a race together!  A race to share the gospel of  Jesus Christ before we draw our last breath or time ends. At that point, all opportunity for heavenly reward will cease.

There are all types of prizes for earthly contests and races.  The Bible says these prizes, or crowns of sorts, are perishable so will not last forever as they must be left behind when we die. No one takes their Super Bowl ring, Olympics medal, Purple Heart for valor, movie or song trophies, boy scout medals, or school awards with them beyond that veil called eternity.

But there is a race that we’ve all been entered in — like it or not. There are those who can hardly wait to race to accomplish His purpose and plan, or those who just stand at the starting line when it is time to run (no interest in pursuing Jesus), or those who want to quit and wait back in the comfortable locker room (turned their backs on Jesus and His race).

Jesus promises an imperishable crown.  No one can take it from you and it will be yours forever. Think of that! The wonder and awe of being honored for eternity for choices made here = astonishing!

We need to take care how we run this race.  Castaways are just lost souls. They are adrift in a salty sea. How can they answer the call, “Who will go for us?” You cannot reach out to the lost when you yourself do not avail yourself of the cardinal compass points called God, Jesus, Holy Spirit and the Bible (Hisword of truth). You’re just hopelessly lost unable to even find the track where the race is being held without faith in God and his plan of salvation through Jesus’s atonement.

As in an earthly race there are rules to follow if you want to win. TURN OFF YOUR TELEVISION. TUNE OUT SOCIAL MEDIA. LISTEN TO PRAISE MUSIC INSTEAD OF SECULAR JUNK-FOOD FILLERS THAT JUST WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS TIME. Pursue that which God promises to reward. Be kind to yourself. Imagine the most buff workout coach you can, then BECOME THAT PERSON BUT IN A SPIRITUAL SENSE. BECOME A HURDLER OF OBSTACLES THAT COME AGAINST YOU AS A RACER.

For the Spirit-filled Christ follower, we are given guidelines for winning:

  1. Self-control — shrug off the chains that attempt to entangle and drag you down and out to be disqualified. Who can run with their feet entrapped by chains?
  2. Preach to others through your example, in word and deed. BUT — be careful to not participate in self-deception with unclean hands and impure motives that you would be a castaway and be disqualified, for lustful desires for fame, power position, sexual brokenness in its myriad dysfunction forms is our greatest enemy. Obedience to our call must be first.

On Christmas Eve, Ebenezer Scrooge is locked up in the darkness of his dim house. Dickens tells us, “Darkness is cheap, and Scrooge liked it.”

Today, we still know that darkness is cheap, easy to find, and its raw materials of despair and denial are in abundant supply.

Scrooge liked darkness, as we often do, because it hides what we fear, keeps us from facing what is true and allows us to be blind to truth.  But like so many things that come cheaply, our overindulgence in them comes at great cost.

Out of Scrooge’s darkness appears the ghost of Jacob Marley, Scrooge’s former business partner.  Marley comes not to haunt Scrooge, but to free him.  Scrooge sees that Marley is bound in chains.  “Why are you fettered?” Scrooge asks.

“I wear the chain I forged in life,” Marley says.  “I made it link by link, and yard by yard,” and he tells Scrooge that the chain that will fetter him in the darkness is even longer, heavier and harder still, if he does not leave the darkness.

WOW!  There is a lot of wisdom here!  Though chains placed by others might fetter us, most of our chains are forged by the part of our spiritual self that likes the darkness and shuns the light.  Marley was fettered to cash-boxes, deeds and ledgers, as was Scrooge.  What would fetter or chain you?

Jesus coming into the world — God in human skin — announced what had been hoped forever, that the captive person would be released from the darkest prisons — physical and spiritual.  To our inner spiritual soul, our chains and fetters will be crushed, if we are willing to leave the darkness.  Like Scrooge, do we need to be scared out?  Shaken from slumber?  Scrooge could not receive the simple gift of Christmas, so ghosts rather than grace were sent.  But, the result is love.  We need the light of God’s love that by its very nature is a love that comes to give us value and worth, not a love that comes because we are already valuable and worthy.

The entire point of “A Christmas Carol” is that Scrooge is entirely unworthy of God’s mercy, because Scrooge has no mercy!  But!  Mercy and love come to Scrooge through the judgment of the ghosts, and this “transformation” makes the unworthy Scrooge, worthy again.

The light of God that comes as love, forgiveness and hope is a light that brings judgment.  I know that most of us get uncomfortable when talking about God’s judgment, because we are so afraid that we are unworthy of God’s love.  But, look at Scrooge!  Without God’s light, without the promise of God’s love, Scrooge is doomed!

It is love and judgment bringing him into the light.  Can we now see that judgment by God as a form of God’s love?  His way of exposing the darkness of our own souls?

Oh friends!  Will we ever fully learn that God does not love us because we have value , but instead, HE loves us to give us worth?  Life without the pure love of God coursing through our being is a vapor and miserable!

Let’s say to the Spirit of God with all of our hearts, the words Scrooge humbly uttered after he was confronted and faced his darkened heart.

“I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.”

What is Christmas?

When Heaven kissed earth with the greatest act of sacrifice …  sending us a Redeemer, who is Christ the LORD.  THE Spirit of CHRISTmas.

My note: Listen and watch the video praise song “Mary Did You Know?” performed by Pentatonix which follows the birth of baby Jesus who is in reality the world’s great I AM. Christmas is only the beginning with the birth of God’s sacrificial lamb. Jesus is returning soon, all grown up, with the keys of life an death. He is the only sheep gate to God, the eternal Father.  Are you willing to humble yourself before God and ask him for forgiveness of your sins, then turn and follow Jesus into 2017?
