Although no author is named, no one of any import denies that Jeremiah is the author. The style is so much like the book of Jeremiah, and he would have made the perfect eyewitness not only to the events of the destruction of Jerusalem, but to what it must have felt like for a true servant of Yahweh to experience such an awful thing.
