Last night, November 5th here in The United Kingdom, we remembered a certain Guy Fawkes who tried to blow up parliament in 1605.
He was discovered on November 5th, hence the ‘memorial’ of fireworks on that date because, had he succeeded, the Houses of Parliament would have been completely destroyed, along with the king and many of the aristocracy.
But that’s history, and I was pondering this when The LORD broke into my thoughts saying, “All these fireworks you all let off, they give you a good display don’t they?”
When I agreed that they do give a brilliant display, He continued, “And that display captures many people’s imaginations doesn’t it?”
“Yes”, I said.
“In the days to come,” says The LORD, “I AM going to capture the imagination of every heart by the Signs and Wonders I perform, and by the revelation My Prophets will speak out!
My Evangelists and My Prophets will usher in My Holy Spirit and My Power in such a way as to astonish non-believers, and to rekindle the zeal and passion of all true believers.
There is yet another wave of Holy Spirit activity coming as will finally show the world, as did Elijah on Mount Carmel, that ‘He who answers with Fire — He is The LORD God Almighty.’ “
The LORD showed me that there will be shaking and falling and rebuilding, but there is coming a far more simple, child-like faith, uncomplicated by many of the theological dividers that have created so many denominations.
The rule of thumb will be Jesus Christ Son of God, crucified, dead and buried for our sins. Risen again on the third day and coming again soon for the Church, His Bride.
Those who have repented and received Him as LORD and Saviour will be saved — those who haven’t, won’t! Repentance and turning away from our sin is everything.
Such a simple Gospel! Oh brothers and sisters, it really is as simple as that.
Why do we over-think and over-complicate everything? It’s time to preach a simple Gospel again.
