Handwashing & Falling Idols & Worldwide Selah Moment – LaTonya Canada-Christ, 3:16-2020

1) First in the natural, then in the Spirit – I Corinthians 15:46
Hand washing and disinfecting has become the response to preventing spread of coronavirus. We clean the outside of the vessel. This is a prophetic sign.
However, Jesus warned of this:
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” Matthew 23:26-28
The people are content with an outward appearance of good, clean, family-fun, patriotic. However, God does not consider the nation’s corruption, idolatry, murderous, and sexually immoral to be “good”. Throughout the Word, pestilence/plague, famine, fires, violence/death, poverty, earthquakes and tornadoes are synonymous with God’s judgments for national/regional sin. Yet He offers the promise of 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from unrighteousness.” The inner cleansing. Individually, we must submit to Psalms 51 and satisfy our God.
The second prophetic insight is reminiscent to an idiom. We want to wash our hands of this problem. We want to be clean of the responsibility of this epidemic. We want to be innocent of the responsibility to know, to act, to pray, to cry aloud and spare not. But truly we all are partially responsible. National sin is a result of all our iniquity, whether we committed these offenses or willfully ignored speaking up about them. Revelation 18 is a statement of a guilty plea that has been entered by the courts of heaven and sentencing of the nations has begun. The nations have made a league against God and his statutes. The judgments are similarly to those aforementioned: plagues, famine, death, fires, economic ruin. God does not change.
2) “All the idols are falling. This is a prophetic sign.”
Jeremiah 25:10-11, Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones and the light of the lamp.
Cheers, laughter, fun, wedding feasts, celebrations, big ticket events, graduations, sports, travels, work, and power outages are to come. Look at the verse.
Every knee shall bow, and every tongue will confess Jesus Christ is Lord. The main idol is Mammon. But many have entertainment, musicians, concerts, hobbies, sports, sports figures, teams, cities, alma maters, sororities, fraternities, social clubs, organizations, galas, travels, zip codes, fashions, shoes, hairstyles as idols. Today the Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, NBA, NHL, NCAA, and many stadium/convention center events, including churches, have closed or cancelled for the season. God is using this opportunity – He did not cause it – He is able to use it, to see what we will do? His indictment in Jeremiah is clear. America has forsaken God who was originally sought out to worship in this country, only to go a whoring. Secondly, she has made and trusted in gods that cannot save them. Will we reflect on why this all this happening? Will we consider our ways? Will we pray to God concerning all the upheaval? Or will we demand life return to “normal” and demand our idols? Will we continue to give lip-service to submission and worshipping Jesus or truly repent and reprioritize our lives, time and activities?
3) “We are in a Worldwide Selah.” (Selah means to pause and reflect.)
a) We are in a Worldwide “Selah”. The Lord wants us to pause and reflect on the world condition and state of affairs in our nation. He wants us to reflect on our responsibility, to seek Him out, from whence we have fallen, and personal examination as it relates to Mark 4:1-20, and Revelation chapters 1-4. There must be repentance and a trustful heart abiding in the secret place. If these steps are NOT taken, you don’t get the Psalm 91 covering. It states that it is a CONDITIONAL blessing. Psalm 91:1-2
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
b) Whatever the Lord tells you to do, do right away. Don’t hesitate. Complicit obedience is necessary to stay in step with the Holy Spirit.
c) Listen and wait upon the Lord, drawing strength from His presence
d) God’s people are not to be taken by surprise. 1 Thess 5:2-4 says, “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” Amos 3:7
Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.
If this pandemic has caught you by surprise, and you had no preparation, then you haven’t been listening to a prophet. You have been preoccupied and/or listening to false prophets, saying all is well and we will have peace. Stay close and intimate with the Lord. Isaiah 26:20.
We are in the birth pangs of Matthew 24, Luke 21 and the judgments of Rev 18. Only faith in Jesus and His Word can keep, protect, provide and cause us to endure to the end. God isn’t just going to go away and leave us to ourselves. He loves us too much to do that. He also loves us too much to not chastise us.
