Prisoners of Hope and the Double Portion ~ by Deborah Waldron Fry, 11/22/2020

Posted: November 22, 2020 in LOVE is GOD; GOD is LOVE in the universe, Wilderness Exodus Leaning on Our Beloved Lord

I saw a Child of God in the Spirit.

They were feeling very isolated, lost and alone.  Their spirit was grieving.  The world around them suddenly did not make sense any more.

People and things they had counted on suddenly were no longer there.  They felt like they were falling into a pit of darkness and despair.  But I heard the Voice of Comfort say, “You are not lost, My Child, but found.”

“Beloved.  Do not weep.  You are not lost, but you are found, My Child.  Do not fear.

He who reached down from high and took hold of you is still reaching out for you; He who drew you out of deep waters is still drawing you to Himself.

He who rescued you from your powerful enemy, from your foes, who were too strong for you, is still delivering you and protecting you.

You will never fall backwards again for I AM bringing you forward.  Never again will you wander in the wilderness, for you have come out of the wilderness, leaning on your Beloved.

I know your heart is grieved.  My Spirit is also grieved at the suffering My Children go through.  Even your Savior weeps with compassion for you.  But I AM your Hope, My Child.

When the enemy confronts you in the day of disaster, still your Dread Champion stands between you and your foes.  I AM your Support, Beloved.  I AM bringing you into a Spacious Place.

I rescue you because I delight in you.  Do not grieve, do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  Here is My promise to you, “Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion; instead of dishonor you shall rejoice in your lot; therefore in your land you shall possess a double portion; and you shall have everlasting joy.

Because of the Blood of My covenant, I will release your prisoners from the waterless pit.

I give you Beauty for ashes, the Oil of Joy for your mourning.  I will turn your mourning into dancing. Return to your Stronghold, O prisoners of Hope; even today I declare that I will restore to you DOUBLE.””

There are TWO verses exactly the same that the Lord gave me today. (see below) And I heard DOUBLE for your TROUBLE. DOUBLE PORTION.
When God says double, He means MUCH MORE than twice as much.
A double portion is the right of the first-born.  It means he inherits everything from His Father.
Colossians 1:15 refers to Jesus as the firstborn over all creation.  This is not a reference to Jesus being born, but rather a reference to His position of importance over all created things.
A double portion is the right of a firstborn in terms of inheritance, and also a sign of love.  And you are a JOINT HEIR with Jesus Christ!  😃

“He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.  He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me.  They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the LORD was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me,”   Psalm 18:17.

“He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters.  He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from foes too mighty for me.  They confronted me in my day of calamity, but the LORD was my support.  He brought me out into the open; He rescued me because He delighted in me,”    2 Samuel 22:17-20.

“Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion; instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot; therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion; they shall have everlasting joy,”   Isaiah 61:7.

“As for you also, Because of the blood of your covenant, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.  Return to the Stronghold, You prisoners of hope.  Even today I declare that I will restore double to you,”   Zechariah 9:11-12.

“Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy,”   Psalm 126:5.

“and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.  They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor,”   Isaiah 61:3.
