Notice the 111: “He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him,” John 1:11.

Below are some extended excerpts from King’s April 4, 1967 Riverside Church speech. We just passed the 50 year anniversary. (M.L.K., Jr. was assassinated exactly one year later on April 4, 1968.) Note his warning to a church which would become progressively more “lukewarm” in God’s eyes over this last half century.

“The church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the state, but rather the conscience of the state. It must be the guide and the critic of the state, and never its tool. If the church does not recapture its prophetic zeal, it will become an irrelevant social club without moral or spiritual authority.”– Martin Luther King Jr.

God’s New Testament, including Revelation, warns of a time when the modern “progressive” church would indeed become an irrelevant social club who does not pursue Holy Spirit, righteousness, prophecy, prayer and holiness. Notice the end result: the church then lacks moral and spiritual authority. It’s leaders pursue business and growth models instead of holiness and sanctification rituals and lives led purely. The church forgets that God does not look at outward appearances, but at individual hearts. Repentance and a turning from absolute sin is skipped over. Prayer is short and perfunctory…not people on their knees calling out to God. Services are pre-planned and printed. Holy Spirit is unfriended like a social media event. Oh, how the Father’s heart is grieved at the masses, including many professing Christians, who are following their leaders blindly. Oh how He is grieved at “shepherds” functioning more like “wolves” as they pick and choose through scripture while leaving out so much that is necessary for the people to be pure and blameless before God when he comes for a people bride for his Son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus has been speaking repeated warnings through his prophets that judgement will begin in the house of God. He does not live in buildings but in individual hearts. You are not to love God more than you love the world with all its distractions and lures. God needs John the Baptist’s who will announce the grand and glorious Day of the Lord which approaches. Make way a straight path. Beware of curves and a broad road that leads down to abject sorrow not the narrow road with Jesus as the gate which leads up to Father God.

“But put ye on the LORD Jesus Christ,” Romans 13:14.

“Finally, be strong in the LORD and in the power of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes,” Ephesians 6:10-11.

“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light,” Romans 13:11-12..

“And God answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he may run that reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie. Though it delays, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not be late,” Habakkuk 2:2.

Charles Darwin put forth his theories more than a century ago to counter Biblical truth about Father God creating first man, then woman as his help-mate, beginning the first couple who then went on to become a first family with a marriage consisting of one man and one woman — the Biblical model. Hope and love. We all are built to crave these two but are confused about where to place our hope and who is the author of love, the lover of our soul — not just our outward appearance. You need living water to bring your soul to life. You must have truth — God’s truth. This sword of truth cuts through all lies of the enemy of your soul, the great deceiver, Satan.

Satan is desperate to put forth any kind of lies to counter truth. Athiests, agnostics and willful disbelievers are complicit with these deceptions because they too are desperate to explain away a creator God and His creation. If God is indeed in charge, there must be rules and sovereignty. This would require obedience, worship and service to God rather than worship of self, science, idols and world systems.

Darwinism began as a theory taught alongside creationism, but over time academics pushed God and his truth farther and farther away. Now mostly secular science is taught at institutions of “higher learning” but God says without Him man’s knowledge and plans are mere foolishness of imaginations. Satan is more than willing to lean over and whisper in your ear all manner of deception and doubt. “Did God really say that? Is that what YOU want to believer? What is right in your own eyes?” Do you recognize this deception? It is just recycled from Genesis and the Garden of Eden where man first turned against God’s truth, turning from the Tree of Life to the world’s Tree of the Knowledge of Good an Evil. So sad. So tragic. Men and women just keep gullibly falling into the same trap over and over in each succeeding generation. Satan changes his lies according to the era, but at the base is the same…sowing doubt about the infallibility of God’s Word, the Bible, and God’s son, Jesus, sent for our salvation.

Paul, chosen and changed by God to bring truth to all after Jesus returned to heaven, spoke these words of truth to the people then 2,000 years ago which are the same truth yesterday, today and forever: “God made the world and everything in it. He is Lord of heaven and earth, and he doesn’t live in temples built by human hands. He doesn’t need help from anyone. He gives life, breath, and everything else to all people. From one person God made all nations who live on earth, and he decided when and where every nation would be. God has done all this, so that we will look for him and reach out and find him. He isn’t far from any of us, and he gives us the power to live, to move, and to be who we are. We are his children…He isn’t like anything that humans have thought up and made.” (Acts 17: 24-28) Does this not clearly remove any confusion about evolution and organisms becoming human without God? Foolishness has been eagerly embraced for far too long. It is way past time we ask forgiveness for our sins of unbelief and worship of scientists and theories.

God alone owns truth. I will tell you of a small miracle. I felt led to type these words for you this morning, but then wondered if I should on this first day of American “Spring Break” for teachers, like me, all over America. This holiday used to properly be called Easter Vacation, but no more as people are deliberately attempting to erase the God who created us from modern life. I returned from the kitchen making Saturday muffins for the family, and one of my repentance cards to hand out for people to find this website lay right on top of my laptop. There is no way it could be there in the natural. They reside in a cardboard box on a shelf. It was not there last night. Only an angel or Holy Spirit could have put it there. So….I write in obedience. The last verse I will leave is a fair warning: “God…now says that everyone everywhere must turn to him. He has set a day wen he will judge the world’s people with fairness. And he has chosen the man Jesus to do the judging for him. God has given proof of this to all of us by raising Jesus from death.” Acts 17: 30-31

I have news for you. Your soul is immortal. You will live on after this stage called life ends. BUT, where your soul resides will be determined by your faith in the testimony of him who is described as “faithful and true” in the Bible — Jesus Christ.

On Christmas Eve, Ebenezer Scrooge is locked up in the darkness of his dim house. Dickens tells us, “Darkness is cheap, and Scrooge liked it.”

Today, we still know that darkness is cheap, easy to find, and its raw materials of despair and denial are in abundant supply.

Scrooge liked darkness, as we often do, because it hides what we fear, keeps us from facing what is true and allows us to be blind to truth. But like so many things that come cheaply, our overindulgence in them comes at great cost.

Out of Scrooge’s darkness appears the ghost of Jacob Marley, Scrooge’s former business partner. Marley comes not to haunt Scrooge, but to free him. Scrooge sees that Marley is bound in chains. “Why are you fettered?” Scrooge asks.

“I wear the chain I forged in life,” Marley says. “I made it link by link, and yard by yard,” and he tells Scrooge that the chain that will fetter him in the darkness is even longer, heavier and harder still, if he does not leave the darkness.

WOW! There is a lot of wisdom here! Though chains placed by others might fetter us, most of our chains are forged by the part of our spiritual self that likes the darkness and shuns the light. Marley was fettered to cash-boxes, deeds and ledgers, as was Scrooge. What would fetter or chain you?

Jesus coming into the world — God in human skin — announced what had been hoped forever, that the captive person would be released from the darkest prisons — physical and spiritual. To our inner spiritual soul, our chains and fetters will be crushed, if we are willing to leave the darkness. Like Scrooge, do we need to be scared out? Shaken from slumber? Scrooge could not receive the simple gift of Christmas, so ghosts rather than grace were sent. But, the result is love. We need the light of God’s love that by its very nature is a love that comes to give us value and worth, not a love that comes because we are already valuable and worthy.

The entire point of “A Christmas Carol” is that Scrooge is entirely unworthy of God’s mercy, because Scrooge has no mercy! But! Mercy and love come to Scrooge through the judgment of the ghosts, and this “transformation” makes the unworthy Scrooge, worthy again.

The light of God that comes as love, forgiveness and hope is a light that brings judgment. I know that most of us get uncomfortable when talking about God’s judgment, because we are so afraid that we are unworthy of God’s love. But, look at Scrooge! Without God’s light, without the promise of God’s love, Scrooge is doomed!

It is love and judgment bringing him into the light. Can we now see that judgment by God as a form of God’s love? His way of exposing the darkness of our own souls?

Oh friends! Will we ever fully learn that God does not love us because we have value , but instead, HE loves us to give us worth? Life without the pure love of God coursing through our being is a vapor and miserable!

Let’s say to the Spirit of God with all of our hearts, the words Scrooge humbly uttered after he was confronted and faced his darkened heart.

“I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.”

What is Christmas?

When Heaven kissed earth with the greatest act of sacrifice … sending us a Redeemer, who is Christ the LORD. THE Spirit of CHRISTmas.

My bride, I love you and I long for you more than I can express to you in your earthly language.

I make myself known to you through My manifest and abiding presence. The world cannot understand this for they have been deafened and blinded and have no desire to know Me; but you know Me and I know you and I desire that you all would be one just as you are one with Me and as the Father and I are one.

You are the ones who have My love in your heart always because I have put it there. The ones who do not love, do not know me. They may know about me, but they do not know Me in the intimate way that is required to be My bride. You keep My commandments and they are not grievous to you because you walk in the power of My Spirit and you have put away all of the lusts of the flesh.

You are the ones who long for Me constantly and you never forget Me. You cannot imagine even one day where you did not speak to Me or worship Me. My bride would gladly give her life for Me, if it was required of her, because she knows that if this life is taken away from her, she will immediately gain the next, that is far greater than this earth can give her and she will stand in the presence of her true love.

My loves, the things that you will have to see will try your faith. There is so much coming, but I do not want you to fear, for if you do I will not be able to protect you, for you will open the door for the enemy to come in and attack you.

Once the event happens, I will give you more clarity and though the calamities will be all around, so will an ever increasing measure of My Spirit. You will have a knowing of what to do because I will give you specific instructions. You will need to find a secret place alone with Me so that I can give these instructions. Yes, your families and friends will need you, but you will have nothing to give them if you don’t seek Me first and foremost.

I AM your strength, your shield, and your helper and I will dispatch more angels to aid you than ever before too. If you are having problems with fear call upon Me for help, I will not condemn you, for the things that will be happening on this earth will be more horrific than you can imagine. You must just lay everything down before Me and let Me work through you, by the increased faith that I will put in your heart. You will need to stay in a constant state of worship, singing and praying in the Spirit always. This is how you will gain strength and faith My beloved bride. As you do this your power in the Spirit will increase and I instruct you even now to increase your alone time with Me.

Yes, you are the ones who have been chosen for this time on earth since before the foundations of the earth. You also had a part in this choice. You will be tested and tried more than any other generation before or after you. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a deceiver. The world you live in will never go back to the way it was. This is the time of the great harvest and the workers are so few, but you, My pure, holy, spotless, beloved laborers will have great rewards because of this. The rewards that you will gain will last for all of eternity and they are so much greater than anything that I can give you here on earth. You can’t even imagine what I have in store for you, even if I have taken you to heaven, because I have not shown them to anyone who has visited here. They are secrets known only to Me and the Father and you will be astonished by them!

I have said, do not set your hand to the plow and look back. Likewise those who set out into the harvest and stop their work because of fear, are not worthy of My kingdom. Do not long for the times that are past, as Lot’s wife, for you will be consumed as she was. You are not dogs who return to their vomit and you are not pigs that return to wallow in the mud after they have been made clean.

You are My overcomers and you have been given the power to trample over serpents, scorpions, demons, fallen angels and even Satan himself, by My blood sacrifice and the words of your testimony. You will not fear the death of this life because you do not love this world or the things that are in this world, for they are a deception and a distraction away from Me.

My beloved bride, you will be given greater weapons to use against the enemy than those that you have now but this will happen as the conditions on your earth become ever darker and cataclysmic. When the enemy comes in like a flood, I raise up a standard against him and you are the ones! You will just have to walk through a short span of complete darkness before I completely empower you. I know many of you do not understand this, but because of the rules that I have made for intervention on this earth, I cannot give you My full power until the enemy has been granted to use his full power.

The darkness will flee before the great glory that I will give to you!

I tell you that the enemy is no match for you!

You will help Me defeat him!

I AM your groom.

Jeff Byerly used to live a normal American Christian life. He went to church on Sunday and Wednesday, worship band practice on Thursday, was on his church board, and tithed 10%. Even so, his heart was far from the Lord at times and he had secret sin that only He knew about, which he could not overcome. In 2012 Jesus spoke to him in the middle of the night and said “The time of the gentiles is almost over, you must get ready for My return.”

That is when Jeff started seeking the Lord with abandon and putting Him first every morning in worship and prayer. Idols are Nothing & Powerless…to worship them would be disgusting

From the mouth of God: “You idols are nothing, and you are powerless. To worship you would be disgusting. Worshipers of idols comfort each other saying, ‘Don’t worry!’ (Makers of idols) encourage one another and say ‘We’ve done a great job!’ Then they (human hands) nail the idol down, so it won’t fall over.” (Isaiah 41: 24 & 6-7)

Then the Lord who exists outside of time and space as a trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit offers a challenge (using the eternal “we”) —

“…Come argue your case with me. Present your evidence. Come near me, you idols. Tell us about the past and we will think about it. Tell us about the future so we will know what is going to happen. Prove that you are gods by making your predictions come true. Do something good or evil, so we can be amazed and terrified. None of these idols are able to give advice or answer questions.” (Isaiah 41: 21-23, 28)

Only God knows the future with certainty and can predict what will happen in human history. He has given us the future within his written word, commonly called the Holy Bible, so you don’t even have to leave your intelligence “at the door” as nonbelievers accuse. Jesus is the spirit of revelation. He has been chosen, as God’s only son, to reveal truth to the human race. Earnestly seek Him, and He will be found. Limit seeking after worldly distractions. His love is devoted. He desires a covenant relationship with humanity…one where we freely choose to love and honor him. Faith as an offering to Him who created and owns the universe. A free-will offering of your heart, soul, mind and strength. A recent U.S. presidential candidate used the slogan “I’m with her.” I prefer not to put my precious gift of faith and hope in any person who themselves has been given their life and breath only through the gracious gift of Father God. I myself prefer an eternal perspective and choice where I firmly state before the Throne of God at life’s end, while pointing over at the Lamb of God, Jesus my mediator, and proclaiming in a loud, clear voice, “I’m with Him.”

With Shasta Lake in the background, this group praises the only, living, eternal God of the universe by saying, “Your praise will ever be on my lips.” This is how I want God to think of me. Praising him with angels and saints who sing “worthy are you, Lord!” Do not waste another second on idolatry, disbelief and arrogant rebellion. Return to your creator. He who loves you and wishes you to join Him in heaven for eternity.

There is true joy available through deep faith in God’s prophetic utterances. They world offers poor substitutes of fleeting “happy” moments. The world rushes about looking for that next mountaintop “high” experience, but it remains tantalizingly out of reach because God is not part of daily life.

Remember: if you freely choose the Lord while you still have breath to do so – “The Lord your God wins victory after victory and is always with you. He celebrates and sings because of you, and he will refresh your life with his love.” (Zephaniah 3:17) (Contemp. Eng. Ver)

“Yahweh your God is among you, a warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will bring you quietness with His love. He will delight in you with shouts of joy.” Zephaniah 3:17

Jesus has won the victory…His name IS victory! Why?

Christ’s name is victory!

Why worship him?

He only “borrowed” a grave for 3 partial days while he visited hell to claim his victory over death. He did not stay in the grave but was resurrected by God. He sits at the right hand of Father God today and is present on earth every day — all the time still.
He is not a fallible man, but the sinless son of God. Other world religions want you to follow the teachings of a mere human. Mormonism’s Joseph Smith, Buddhism’s Buddha, Islam’s Mohammed, Scientology’s L. Ron Hubbard have never been proven to be more than revered humans. They are buried and gone, never to return to earth. They do not walk amongst us today. In the end, they were not victorious over the grave.
Jesus values each and every one of us equally and sees value in us individually. We aren’t a huge crowd or ethnicity to him. Today’s elite have a nickname for those that aren’t them: Worthless Eaters. That is because the individual is not revered as specially created by God with intrinsic worth as the creation of His hand. Biometrics just adds more reason to believe that we are all special individuals; we all have distinguishable fingerprints and retina prints. We are not lost in the crowd to Jesus. He longs that each of us would turn from our arrogant unbelief and accept his free offer of salvation while it is still available.
He freely gives us Holy Spirit as our guide to holiness and comforter. He helps us pray when we are so troubled or unsure of what to even pray. Accepting Jesus has changed countless lives from evil or addictive behavior…causing astonishing change in direction. People who follow Jesus are able to walk away from their broken chains that Satan coiled around them…supernatural power from God becomes available as sons and daughters of God. Suddenly, Holy Spirit’s “fruits” of love, peace, joy, faithfulness, patience and long-suffering towards others begin to manifest.
His love is devoted and enduring. He offers mercy and faithfulness. He pledges himself to us. He takes away guilt and shame and replaces them with salvation. He offers an unbreakable covenant with the people of earth.
HE’S COMING BACK FOR A PEOPLE CONSECRATED TO HIM…THAT WAIT AND WATCH FOR THEIR MESSIAH’S RETURN. Read and understand this truth from the last book and chapter of the Bible, Revelation 22: 12-17 “Then I (Christ’s apostle John) was told: I am coming soon! And when I come, I will reward everyone for what they have done. I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. God will bless all who have washed their robes (accepted salvation through Jesus’ atonement on the cross). They will each have the right to eat fruit from the tree that gives life, and they can enter the gates of the city. But outside the city will be dogs, witches, immoral people, murderers, idol worshipers, and everyone who loves to tell lies and do wrong.” I am Jesus! And I am the one who sent my angel to tell all of you these thiings for the churches. I am David’s Great Descendant, and I am also the bright morning star. The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” Everyone who hears this should say, “Come!” If you are thirsty (for God’s righteousness), Come! If you want life-giving water, come and take it. It’s free!“
Jesus is part of the great I AM. Present with God from before the foundation of the earth. In Genesis, at creation, the word “We” is used instead of the singular “I.” Throughout the Old and New Testament, God refers to himself as “I AM.” This follows all the way through Jesus’ earthly life where he left heaven and dwelt among us to offer a personal, one-on-one salvation, so that the term “I AM” is also used to describe him through the last book and chapter of God’s Holy Bible — his living word left for us to follow.

God Inhabits the Praises of His People

A simple way to please Almighty God, your Father in heaven, is to offer him the sacrifice of praise. This means determining to spend your time with worship songs rather than the music of the world — a distraction that has been far too effective in drawing people’s focus and attention away from God. As people draw together less in church building community, it becomes even more important to spend time in praise and adoration some other way to compensate. The lyrics enter your soul and mind and become a two-way communication with heaven. You can sing to Jesus, and in return, He will sing over you.

I wake up and most mornings one of my favorite worship songs is singing through my mind, before my conscious mind even begins stretching for the day. I am a Carol — a song of joy. My heavenly father spoke to me upon wakeup one morning and said, “I created you to bring special joy to people. That is why your birthday is so close to Shirley Temple, another I created to bring special joy.” Well. Honestly, in the natural, there is no way I would know her birthday. She had just died earlier in the year I remembered. I also know that when you see her movies from the Great Depression, she seems to glow with the joy of the Holy Spirit. I never thought about how that could be God’s gift, raised up for such a time as that. But makes sense that he would use a child as a vessel of hope to a nation in despair. I looked up her birthday upon waking and sure enough, we are one day apart. Holy Spirit’s revelations feel so amazing. Really important to stay close and be ready for that small, still voice.

Lately there are 2 anointed praise and worship songs about rivers that I cannot get off my heart or mind. I wake up and they are literally singing over me before I am even awake. They are “The River” by Jordan Feliz. Not sure if this is his real name, but would be amazing since the translation would be Happy Jordan (River) from the Holy Land. The other is “In the River” by Jesus Culture on their just released 2016 album Let It Echo recorded live during worship services at their home church in Folsom, CA. This is a suburb of the city named after the Sacraments of the Lord: Sacramento, where in the natural gold was discovered in the very rivers that flow through this region: the Sacramento River and the American River. I have been blessed that God has deposited this amazing group of believers from Redding, CA into my own backyard a year ago. What amazing timing our God has. He is replicating from the natural gold history to the coming revelation of His glory through the signs and wonders which will soon burst forth from his remnant church. Let it indeed echo — our songs of praise. Evil has no defense against our raising one voice to declare our God is good, holy, pure and trustworthy. His sheep indeed know his voice.

Ode to Joy

How does one achieve joy permeating their lives? Today’s headlines are determined to sap joy and replace it with fear…which is the diabolical plan revealed in the Bible verse that explains how the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. Not only bodies are being stolen through evil and murder, but joy is being hijacked right alongside.

You see, satan is the great deceiver and counterfeiter. If God comes to give abundant life and joy, then the opposite, spirit of antichrist, prowls looking for ways to bring cowering fear, oppression and suppression of knowledge that Christ promised to return…that believers’ will have a secure heavenly home full of the joy of their Lord. I hear people say that following Christ…being a Christian…looking forward to heaven…is just a big buzz-kill — having to give up earthly carousing, addictions…bowing to the Biblical teaching that a person’s body is the temple in which Holy Spirit lives. But the opposite is actually true.

Heaven will be a place of light, joy and love from the whole trinity — Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Worship won’t be some kind of required ritual…but will be spontaneous when presented with the glory and majesty that is God surrounded by His heavenly host of angels and crowds of witnesses to His truth. Joy will burst forth with the realization that you chose to follow Him of your own free will while living on earth for that short time before we all step through death’s door and into eternity.

Hell is not some big frat party. It is the eternal absence of all that is good, holy, lovely and perfect. No light…but memory. Remembering the chances to choose Jesus, but not repenting out of stubborn pride and arrogance that somehow YOU would be the first person to cheat death of another soul. Time to choose has lessened by one day since yesterday. If you still have breath, you still have time to choose joy.

God’s power can break your chains that tie you to the dark side. So many wait with joyful anticipation of the new Star Wars movie saga. It explores the idea of a dark side and a good force, but from a fictional set of Hollywood authors. There is a real battle waging for your soul so don’t overlook that you must choose. Not choosing God’s son will become a choice for the “dark side” that will have eternal consequences. Use sound judgment in separating truth from fiction.
